Problem

A substantial body of research has demonstrated that physical exercise can have profound effects on mental health and cognitive function. For example, exercise has been shown to alleviate the negative effects of stress, mitigate drug withdrawal symptoms, improve memory function, and increase attentional focus. Over the past 15 years, it has also become clear that the cognition-enhancing effects of exercise are mediated through specific physiological changes in the brain. Despite these advances, however, the public is still largely unaware of the connection between exercise and mental health.

Solution

Motivating people to use exercise as a way to improve cognition.

Impact

This could be particularly helpful to students who look for ways to improve their performance on tests and homework and might turn to Adderall or some other drug. It is also meant to add a new motivation (along with just general good physical health) for regular exercise.
